Braces help children correct crowded teeth, spacing, and bite concerns while creating a healthier, more balanced smile. At Midtown Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Daniel Kim provides personalized orthodontic plans designed around each child’s development, comfort, and goals throughout their braces journey.
Kids braces are orthodontic appliances designed to gradually move teeth into better alignment while addressing concerns such as crowding, spacing, and bite problems. WildSmiles braces use customized brackets that allow children to personalize parts of their orthodontic experience while receiving the same type of corrective treatment approach used with traditional braces.
At Midtown Pediatric Dentistry, treatment begins with a detailed orthodontic evaluation to understand your child’s tooth position, bite relationship, and overall smile development. Dr. Daniel Kim creates a plan based on your child’s specific needs, helping determine whether WildSmiles braces are an appropriate option.
Dr. Daniel Kim is a board-certified orthodontist and diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics with advanced training in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics.
We understand that braces are a big experience for children. Our team explains treatment in a way kids can understand while helping them feel comfortable and involved.
Every child’s smile develops differently. We evaluate tooth alignment, bite concerns, and orthodontic needs before recommending a treatment approach.
WildSmiles allows children to personalize their brackets, helping make orthodontic treatment feel more exciting and encouraging positive involvement throughout the process.
Some orthodontic concerns become easier to identify as children grow and permanent teeth develop. An orthodontic evaluation can help determine whether braces may be helpful for improving alignment, bite function, or smile development.
When teeth do not have enough space to align properly, they may overlap, twist, or appear crowded. Braces can help guide teeth into healthier positions as part of a personalized orthodontic plan.
An uneven bite, including overbite, underbite, or crossbite, may affect how the upper and lower teeth come together. Evaluation helps determine whether orthodontic correction may be beneficial.
Crowded or tightly positioned teeth can sometimes make brushing and flossing more challenging. Improving alignment may help create areas that are easier to maintain with proper oral hygiene.
WildSmiles braces use brackets and orthodontic wires to apply controlled pressure that gradually guides teeth into improved alignment. The treatment process is planned around your child’s orthodontic needs while allowing them to personalize their braces experience.
WildSmiles offers children the opportunity to choose personalized bracket styles, making braces feel more unique and engaging during treatment.
Like other fixed braces systems, WildSmiles uses brackets and wires to guide tooth movement and address alignment concerns such as crowding, spacing, and certain bite issues.
Regular orthodontic visits allow Dr. Kim to monitor tooth movement, make adjustments when needed, and ensure treatment continues according to your child’s individual plan.

Braces can provide more than a straighter smile. For children with orthodontic concerns, treatment may help improve tooth positioning, bite relationships, and long-term smile development.
Kids braces can help address crowded, spaced, or rotated teeth by gradually guiding them into improved positions.
Orthodontic treatment can help correct certain bite concerns by improving how the upper and lower teeth fit together.
A more balanced smile can help children feel more comfortable with their appearance as they grow and interact at school and in daily activities.
Starting braces is a new experience for many children. At Midtown Pediatric Dentistry, we guide families through each stage, from the initial evaluation to ongoing adjustments and braces care.

Have questions about WildSmiles braces for children? These answers help explain how kids braces work, who may benefit from treatment, and what families can expect throughout the orthodontic process.
WildSmiles braces are orthodontic braces designed with customizable bracket options that allow children to personalize their treatment experience while receiving orthodontic care to improve tooth alignment and bite concerns.
WildSmiles braces use the same basic orthodontic principles as traditional braces by using brackets and wires to guide tooth movement. Dr. Kim determines the most appropriate treatment approach based on each child’s orthodontic needs.
The right timing depends on your child’s dental development, tooth eruption, bite, and orthodontic concerns. An orthodontic evaluation can help determine when braces or another treatment approach may be appropriate.
Treatment length varies depending on the complexity of alignment concerns, bite correction needs, and how well your child follows orthodontic care instructions. Dr. Kim can provide a more specific estimate after an evaluation.
Children with braces may need to avoid hard, sticky, or chewy foods that can damage brackets or wires. The orthodontic team provides guidance on foods and habits that help protect braces during treatment.
