Whether your child has crowded teeth or you’re considering straightening your own, understanding your treatment options is a good place to start. Board-certified orthodontist Dr. Daniel Kim welcomes patients from Lower Manhattan to Midtown Pediatric Dentistry for orthodontic evaluations, braces, clear aligners, and age-appropriate treatment planning.
Growing Smiles, Gentle Care
Dr. Daniel Kim is a board-certified orthodontist with advanced training from Columbia University. He looks beyond crooked teeth to understand how your bite functions and how your jaws have developed. He’ll explain his findings, discuss your concerns, and help you decide whether treatment makes sense.
Getting braces or aligners brings new responsibilities, from keeping teeth clean to caring for orthodontic appliances. We help teenagers understand what’s involved before treatment starts, including what they can eat, how to manage discomfort, and why following care instructions matters.
Not everyone needs the same treatment. Braces may be better suited to certain alignment or bite problems, while clear aligners offer a removable option for suitable patients. Dr. Kim explains the differences so you can make a decision that considers your dental health, preferences, and daily routine.
Orthodontic treatment involves follow-up visits, so understanding the appointment schedule matters when you’re traveling from Lower Manhattan. Our team explains what to expect throughout treatment, helping you plan for regular visits to our Midtown office before making a commitment.
Complete Smile Care for Growing Families
Not every child with crooked teeth needs braces right away. Our pediatric orthodontic treatment includes evaluating tooth alignment and bite development, helping parents understand whether their child needs treatment or continued monitoring as they grow.
As permanent teeth settle into place, some teenagers are ready to begin orthodontic treatment. Our teen orthodontic treatment offers braces and clear aligners when appropriate, with guidance on appliance care, daily habits, and treatment expectations.
Perhaps your teeth have shifted since childhood, or you’ve been considering treatment for years. Our adult orthodontic treatment includes braces and clear aligners, with recommendations that account for your current oral health, existing dental work, and alignment goals.
Certain bite or jaw development problems may benefit from treatment while a child is still growing. Our early orthodontic treatment, also called Phase 1 treatment, addresses selected developmental concerns before all permanent teeth have erupted.

Amazing experience with Dr. Marc Nardea! My 9-year-old was extremely scared of the dentist, but Dr. Nardea made the whole process smooth and tear-free. He removed two teeth in under 30 minutes with zero drama. He was also super helpful in breaking down my insurance coverage. Professional, punctual, and great with kids. Highly recommended!
This practice is the best ever!! Not only is it easily accessible, but the office is clean and child friendly with the most pleasant staff. My child’s visit was thorough and Dr. Marc took his time to explain everything and address any concerns that I may have had. My child left the office happy and I was extremely satisfied.
It was a welcoming and very clean environment from the minute we walked through the door. My son had a wonderful experience with Dr. Marc Nardea. He was pleasant, patient and careful. He gave me a full rundown of our options and explained everything he was doing in detail. I’m so happy we found him! We plan to continue dental care with him.
We went to see Dr. Marc for my sons first dentist appointment. He was great! He took the time to answer our questions and made my son feel comfortable. Dr. Marc had a great bedside manner. My son will continue to be his patient and we’re looking forward to his next appointment!

Crowded teeth, noticeable gaps, or difficulty bringing the upper and lower teeth together can indicate an orthodontic concern. However, these signs don’t always mean braces are necessary. Dr. Kim can evaluate your child’s bite and dental development to determine whether treatment or continued monitoring is appropriate.
Yes. Teeth can shift years after orthodontic treatment, particularly when retainers aren’t worn consistently. Depending on how much your teeth have moved and your current bite, braces or clear aligners may help. Dr. Kim can examine your teeth and discuss whether further treatment would be beneficial.
Dr. Kim will examine your teeth, bite, and jaw alignment to identify any orthodontic concerns. He’ll discuss whether braces, clear aligners, or another approach may be appropriate. You’ll also have an opportunity to ask questions about treatment, expected timelines, and next steps.
Yes, retainers are generally needed after braces or clear aligners to help prevent teeth from shifting back toward their previous positions. Dr. Kim will recommend a retainer and explain how often to wear it based on your treatment and individual needs.
