Families looking for an orthodontist near the Upper West Side can visit Midtown Pediatric Dentistry in Midtown Manhattan. Board-certified orthodontist Dr. Daniel Kim provides evaluations for children, teens, and adults, with braces, clear aligners, and early orthodontic treatment available when appropriate.
Growing Smiles, Gentle Care
Dr. Daniel Kim is a board-certified orthodontist with advanced specialty training from Columbia University. He examines how teeth and jaws fit together, identifies developing bite concerns, and explains which treatment options may help. Parents and patients can ask questions and understand the recommendations before deciding on care.
For Upper West Side families balancing school, sports, and other activities, knowing what to expect from orthodontic appointments matters. Our team explains how often follow-up visits may be needed, whether your child is getting braces or starting another treatment. This helps families plan ahead without guessing about their child’s appointment schedule.
A child with a developing bite may need a different approach than a teenager with crowded permanent teeth. Adults may also seek treatment for shifting teeth or bite concerns. We offer orthodontic care for different stages of life, including braces, clear aligners, and monitoring when immediate treatment isn’t necessary.
Our Midtown Manhattan office is an option for families traveling from Lincoln Square, Manhattan Valley, and other parts of the Upper West Side. The Broadway–Seventh Avenue subway line connects the neighborhood with Midtown, making it possible to reach our Fifth Avenue location by public transit. Detailed directions are provided below.
Complete Smile Care for Growing Families
Children’s teeth and jaws change as they grow. Our kids’ orthodontic treatment includes evaluations for crowding, spacing, and bite concerns, helping parents understand whether their child needs treatment now or should be monitored as permanent teeth emerge.
Teenagers may need orthodontic care for crowded teeth, gaps, or bite problems as their permanent teeth settle into place. Our teen orthodontic treatment includes braces and, when appropriate, removable clear aligners that gradually move teeth into better alignment.
Teeth can shift over time, even after previous orthodontic treatment. Our adult orthodontic treatment includes braces and clear aligners for suitable patients. Dr. Kim also considers existing dental work, oral health, and bite concerns when discussing treatment options.
Some children benefit from orthodontic care before all their permanent teeth have appeared. Early orthodontic treatment (Phase 1 treatment) may address certain crossbites, spacing problems, or jaw development concerns.

Amazing experience with Dr. Marc Nardea! My 9-year-old was extremely scared of the dentist, but Dr. Nardea made the whole process smooth and tear-free. He removed two teeth in under 30 minutes with zero drama. He was also super helpful in breaking down my insurance coverage. Professional, punctual, and great with kids. Highly recommended!
This practice is the best ever!! Not only is it easily accessible, but the office is clean and child friendly with the most pleasant staff. My child’s visit was thorough and Dr. Marc took his time to explain everything and address any concerns that I may have had. My child left the office happy and I was extremely satisfied.
It was a welcoming and very clean environment from the minute we walked through the door. My son had a wonderful experience with Dr. Marc Nardea. He was pleasant, patient and careful. He gave me a full rundown of our options and explained everything he was doing in detail. I’m so happy we found him! We plan to continue dental care with him.
We went to see Dr. Marc for my sons first dentist appointment. He was great! He took the time to answer our questions and made my son feel comfortable. Dr. Marc had a great bedside manner. My son will continue to be his patient and we’re looking forward to his next appointment!

No. Midtown Pediatric Dentistry is located at 347 5th Avenue, Suite 1210, in Midtown Manhattan, near the Empire State Building. Families traveling from the Upper West Side can reach us by subway or car. You’ll find the subway route and full office address in the directions section below.
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends an initial orthodontic checkup by age seven, or earlier if a concern is noticed. At this age, an orthodontist can examine developing teeth and jaw relationships. An early visit doesn’t mean your child needs braces. Many children only require monitoring until a later stage of development.
Orthodontic coverage depends on your dental insurance plan, age limits, and specific benefits. Midtown Pediatric Dentistry accepts many PPO and HMO dental plans, but accepting a plan does not necessarily mean orthodontic treatment is covered. Some HMO plans may also have referral requirements. Contact our office to review your benefits and discuss possible out-of-pocket costs.
Yes. Most children can continue playing sports during orthodontic treatment. If your child participates in contact sports, an orthodontic mouthguard can help protect their teeth, braces, and soft tissues. Dr. Kim can recommend suitable protection based on your child’s treatment and activities.
